Councilman James S. Oddo Is Proud!

Today the PS22 Chorus received an extremely kind handwritten letter from Minority Leader of The N.Y.C. Council, James S. Oddo, who was in attendance at the McMahon inauguration on December 21st! (If you haven't seen the two songs already posted from the event, click on the link.) It is wonderful to hear this kind of amazing feedback from such a distinguished representative! We too are proud, sir, that you took the time to send us your message. Many, many thanks from the PS22 Chorus!

I wasn't originally going to post the version of "Viva La Vida" (by Coldplay) from the swearing-in ceremony, which the councilman was referring to in his letter. Honestly, the sound system was not picking up the chorus well enough -- not to mention we've already posted about a zillion versions of the song already!! However, Mr. Oddo's letter has inspired me to reconsider. It actually was pretty funny when we got to the line, "Oh who would ever want to be king?" Why? Well let's just say it made the song strangely perfect for the occasion! And it certainly got a big chuckle at the inauguration!!

Enjoy the performance of "Viva La Vida" from the McMahon event below:

Mr. B-
You got me again! I totally agree with you, choosing that song for that assembly took the song to a whole new level. Best example of irony theatre I've seen in a long time, Shakespear would approve. Brilliant!
